Combining Seasons: Maternity Style

via bohocollective.com

Hey guys!  Many of you who follow me on instagram or other social media already know that I'm pregnant, but I haven't shared about it over here, so I thought I would with a maternity style lookbook!  These were shot a little over 2 weeks ago when I was 14 weeks pregnant.  Now that I'm feeling alot better time is flying by.  Ive been in major nesting mode, rearranging the house, purging my closet and belongings, and just generally making more room in my life for what is to come, physically and emotionally.

Even though we should be in full blown winter here by now, this year the seasons have been very teasing.  You never know what you are going to wake up to.  Today it's mid January, and beautiful and sunny outside.  Ivebeen dressing in layers and mixed season clothing alot lately. Its the kind of weather that if your standing in the sun, your toasty, but if you step over a few feet in the shade, your cold...

I am trying to soak up every bit of this season in my life b/c I know it will be over and onto the next before I know it.

CELEBRATORY ADORNMENT + MAGAZINE SNEAK

Celebratory Adornment + Magazine Sneak

Hi Boho Readers!  It's Laura, the Editor-in-Chief of the upcoming Bohemian Collective Magazine.  It's kind of hard to believe I even get to call myself that!  The official release is in exactly one week from today, on October 15th.  I am brimming with excitement as each day brings us closer and closer to the release.  Yesterday I had the chance to get to the city so I could hand my Nanna, Brother & Aunt a print copy.  It felt like a special day, getting to see the look on my Nanna's face when she gets to hold my magazine for the first time, so I dressed for the occasion.  I don't normally share my daily outfits over here on the collective, but I thought it would be fun to share this one since I did it with the magazine.  A little sneak of the real deal print version.

Even if you may not be having a party, or going anywhere fancy, do you ever adorn yourself just to FEEL celebratory?  I love reflecting things like this in my daily attire.  I wanted to dress like it was something special, because it was, even though I was just going to my Nanna's house.  Putting on a sparkly top + fringy boots + a beautiful handmade necklace, made the day feel extra special in my body.  I also did this photoshoot to commemorate it.  The first time my magazine traveled outside of my home to be placed in someone else's hands.  BIG DEAL

SO WHERE CAN I BUY THIS MAGAZINE???

That has been the million dollar question for weeks now.  The actual link to buy it won't be available until the morning of Oct 15th.  I will be sharing where here on the blog, and our social media outlets as soon as its available!  In the meantime, you can enter the giveaway here on our blog to win a print copy, or through our instagam.

EXPLORE

Explore via bohocollective.com

Happy sunday morning loves... We just came into a new moon last night and its the last day of the weekend, what a better day to take some time to EXPLORE...

Exploring does not always have to mean a big wanderlust-ful adventure miles away from home.  Go take a walk in your back yard, or if you live in the city, a nearby park or river side.  One of my favorite things to do is simply walk, very slowly in my backyard.  I take the time to notice the small things, like the bugs doing their thing, the way the leaves look fallen on the ground, the small buds that are about to pop up...  I like to bring my camera with me too usually, unless I'm just in need of some deep thought or mind clearing... I love to take this time of seeing the world up close and personal to capture glimpses of the beauty I see.  It's kind of theraputic actually.  Everytime I take the time do this it feels like I'm setting a reset button on my day.  Getting away from the computer, or chores that need to be done, or you know, the mile long list that never seems to go away...  This is my way of refreshing my overwhelm.

So, all that to say... take some time today and go explore, even just in your own backyard.  And also, since its a new moon, maybe take your journal and go sit outside and journal some new moon wishes.  What do you want to see come to fruition in your life?  What seeds would you like to plant and see grow?

My sweet friend KV from Aquarius Nation put out her written and video horoscopes for this new moon, so go take a listen.  She is always spot on (and is so inspiring and uplifting) to listen.  When reading the written ones, remember to read your sun, moon & rising signs!  And if your on a cusp, read them both...

PEARLS // AN ARTIST COLLAB // No. 1

Poetry & Art Collab by Renea Hanna and Laura Mazurek

Word Alchemist // Renea Hanna

Photo Creatrix //  Laura Mazurek

Flower Crown by Rachael Rice

I am bursting with joy over today's collaboration b/c it represents a full circle of life and emotions between two friends.  Not the art itself, but the artists who created it in unison.  I won't go into much personal detail, but to me this creation is like the budding of new blossoms on roots that have endured a forest fire.  They say that the burning down is actually beneficial to the soil, to bring in new nutrients that were not there before, thus creating new, healthier crops.  Whether or not this is a true thing I have heard, it is a great analogy for the friendship Renea and I hold.

This is our first in many collaborations to come to The Bohemian Collective, with her poetry and my art, intertwined to create one magical piece of art.  Enjoy.
